Pi Network KYC Readiness Guide

KYC is one of the most sensitive parts of using any identity-based app flow because it may involve personal information and official review. This guide focuses on preparation, safety, and common mistakes to avoid. It does not guarantee approval and is not an official Pi Network process.

Safety first

Do not pay strangers, share identity documents through private messages, or use unofficial “fast approval” services. A legitimate identity process should be completed through the official app or official channels, not through random forms shared in chats.

1. Prepare your account information

Before starting any KYC flow, make sure your basic account information is consistent and accessible. If your phone number, email, or login method is outdated, resolve that first where possible. Losing access during verification can make support more difficult.

  • Check that you can open the official app and access the account normally.
  • Confirm that your login method still works on your current device.
  • Keep your app updated through the official app store.
  • Do not install modified APKs or unofficial app builds to “unlock” KYC.

2. Use accurate personal information

Identity verification depends on consistency. Names, dates, documents, and photos should match the official document you are using. Avoid nicknames, partial names, invented dates, or intentionally altered documents. Small inconsistencies can cause manual review or delay.

If the app provides instructions for photo quality, document type, country selection, or face verification, read them carefully before submitting. Rushing through the flow often creates avoidable errors.

3. Check photo and device conditions

Many identity checks fail because photos are blurry, cropped, too dark, covered by glare, or taken with a dirty camera lens. Use a stable internet connection and take the time to capture clear images. If you need to photograph an identity document, place it on a flat surface with enough light and keep all corners visible.

  • Clean the camera lens before taking pictures.
  • Avoid strong backlight, shadows, and reflections.
  • Keep the document flat and fully inside the frame.
  • Do not edit document photos beyond what the official process allows.

4. Avoid unofficial KYC shortcuts

Scammers often target users who are waiting for verification. Common messages include “I can approve your KYC,” “send your document here,” “pay a small fee,” or “connect your wallet to verify faster.” Treat these as high risk. Nobody outside an official process should need your documents, passphrase, password, or verification code.

Never send

  • Wallet passphrase or private key.
  • Password or one-time verification code.
  • Identity documents through unofficial forms or direct messages.
  • Payment to a person who promises approval.

5. Keep a calm record of problems

If something goes wrong, write down what happened: the date, the screen you were on, the error message, and whether the app was updated. Do not post full identity screenshots publicly. If you need help, share only non-sensitive details and remove personal information first.

  • My app is installed from an official app store and is up to date.
  • My personal information matches the identity document I plan to use.
  • I understand that Pi-Mods cannot approve KYC or recover accounts.
  • I will not use unofficial shortcuts, paid approval offers, or private-message verification.
